David Wilner, MD, FACP, AGSF, has joined Capstone Performance Systems as senior medical consultant. A clinical professor at University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Wilner previously served as medical director and vice president of Summit ElderCare and Fallon Health and as coordinator of geriatric medicine training at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Mass. He is a past member of the National Pace Association (NPA) board of directors and former chairman of the NPA’s Primary Care Committee.
In his role as senior medical consultant, Dr. Wilner will provide expertise in clinical documentation improvement and diagnosis coding. He will conduct client staff and provider training in Medicare processes and risk adjustment.
Dr. Wilner is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine and is board certified in geriatric medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, and internal medicine. Among his many honors, Dr. Wilner was the 2013 recipient of Summit Eldercare’s “Leading by Example” award and was named Outstanding Medical Educator by St. Vincent Hospital five times.

Prior to joining Capstone, Dr. Brett (Mike) served as Medical Director for LIFE programs (Living Independence for the Elderly) for Lutheran Senior Life in Western Pennsylvania. Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Dr. Brett had a private practice for 28 years primarily devoted to Geriatrics, and has been Medical Director for several skilled nursing facilities. He also was the Medical Director for a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment program sponsored by the local health system, and served on the board of directors of Heritage Valley Health System located outside Pittsburgh, PA. He has been active with the National PACE Association and its Primary Care Committee, where he served in several leadership positions.
Dr. Brett currently is a member of several organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Geriatric Society, American Medical Directors Association and the National PACE Association Primary Care Committee.

Neta Kessler hired as Project Specialist at Capstone Performance Systems
BOULDER, Colo.–November 21, 2013– Dr. Richard Schamp, CEO of Capstone Performance Systems, announced that Neta Kessler has been hired as Project Specialist. Capstone Performance Systems works with Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and similar organizations to demystify Medicare risk adjustment methodologies and to enhance performance, compliance and revenue. PACE organizations provide community-based, comprehensive care to frail seniors; they are sponsored by Medicare and Medicaid.
Neta’s responsibilities include development, coordination and tracking of company projects. She will also take a central role in communications between Capstone’s consultants, clients, and outside agencies. Neta’s role is an integral element of the Capstone team, providing administrative leadership for Dr. Schamp and Capstone’s consultants. Prior to joining Capstone, Neta was a Senior Patient Assistance Case Manager for a large hospital. She has experience in both the public and private sector and extensive experience with Medicaid, public health, HIPAA, EMR, and health care billing and insurance.
